Mud Pump

Description
A mud pump is a large reciprocating pump designed to circulate drilling fluid under high pressure down the drill string and back up the annulus. It is an important part of the oil well drilling equipment. BW series piston pumps or plunger pumps are often used together with engineering drilling rig and geophysical exploration blast hole drill machine. As a reciprocating device, its power machine drives the crankshaft of mud pump to rotate. Through the crosshead, crankshaft drives piston to do reciprocating movement in pump cylinder. This reciprocating pump can achieve the purpose of pressure feed and circulate drilling fluid by alternating suction and discharge valves.

Classification

How to Select Mud Pumps
1. Bore Diameter
The larger the bore diameter, the larger the piston pump and the larger the flow rate is. A larger bore diameter of this reciprocating pump also means the higher pumping pressure and the large capacity needed for larger jobs.
2. Stroke Length
Long stroke length means that the mud pump can be used on deep wells and drilling sites that fall below ground. Larger drilling applications will require much more horsepower while general industrial and water system uses will require less.
3. Endurance
most reciprocating pumps are designed for heavy industrial use and even for extreme weather conditions often present in off-shore drilling. But for remote or heavy use, drill mud pumps will withstand much wear and perform in harsh environments for a long time with minimal maintenance.
